Sashie’s BIG (Belly!) News

Re: Sashie’s BIG Buddha-FULL Belly To-BE!

Dear Friends and BeLOVEds,

Alohaaaaaa!!!!

Love and Greetings to you from Sashie~Star!

(HI!!!! Imagine I am Magically sitting across from you Right Now, and we are catching up over a lovely cup of tea!)

I realize it has been quite some time since I sent out one of my updates, or connected with many of you, and Now just felt like the time to do it!
What better time than Now, eh?!?
So I am reaching out from my heart to yours, to say ‘hello!’, and ask ‘how are you?’, to re-connect and share…
(and humbly appologize for not yet responding to some beautiful personal emails I’ve received in the last while.)
The past few months have found me immersed in a new and exciting journey, and so I have been taking a bit of a break from my usual life of work, socializing and what-have-you.

My latest (previously “TOP SECRET”) exciting news has slowly started to spread (more like fast raging wildfire actually!) through my Cariboo community here over the past few weeks, and it feels like time to make an official announcement to so many of you who have not yet heard, especially in my Coast and Island and Overseas Tribe!

This year marks a monumental time in my life, a transition from one phase of life to another, not just because I turned 30, but because this past summer my beloved Zach and I decided to embark on a new adventure together… (WOW!)
…And as if by Divine Synchronicity, on the very same day I was conceived so many years ago, we joined our hearts together and a precious new Being came into our lives!!
Alas, I am Pregnant!!!
(Yes, that’s what WOW is, upside-down and backwards!)

Mama, Papa, Baby!

Of course, even though I knew what we were up to, I had to face some pesky doubts and fears that inevitably arise when such a huge life change is in the works, (thankfully I moved through those swiftly!!) and the truth is we are both totally inspired and excited about becoming parents together!

And I must say that taking a Doula Training earlier this year was one of the best things I could have done, not just to expand my skills and broaden my work with people, and connect deeper to my passions, but to prepare for my own Initiation through Birth, into Motherhood. Of all the work I’ve done with and for “Goddess” and “Divine Mother”, this feels like it tops it all, and connects it all in a new way of embodiement that only such a process as birthing can! How exciting! I am also inspired to personally go through the birthing process as I have been exploring the idea of training to become a midwife. It is so much a part of my work already, spiritually midwifing and re-Birthing people into their authentic, inspired, true selves, that it seems aligned to take the next step in the literal and physical sense to support women and their families to bring babies into the world in loving and sacred ways as well!

Anyway, for many reasons, including the love and support of friends and family, (thank you!) I feel confident and inspired to move through the sacred blessings of pregnancy, birth and beyond! It is such a gift to be on this ride and I am so grateful to get to share this special news with you!

Welcoming

It has been enlightening and awe-inspiring, humbling and empowering to witness the miracles of birth I have had the honour of being a part of in the last couple years and I am thrilled to have my own experience next year!

Though I am certain I want to have a homebirth, (unless of course there happens to be some sort of extreme emergency), we are not yet sure where we will be creating the special nest for this beautiful being to enter our world come May of next year.
Ideally we would be here, though it would take a small miracle for our home to be finished and ready for that. (And the perfect midwife who is willing and able to come!)
Possibly Vancouver Island, possibly the lower mainland…or if I am really dreaming Big, at the Sacred Birthing Sanctuary in Kauai!
With faith, work, desire and support…and a little magic perhaps, I know all of these are wonderful possibilities. No matter what or where, I know it will be a beautiful experience!

If you have a great reference from personal experience or know of any outstandingly wonderful midwives, please do pass along their details. And, I am always open to hearing any of your tips, experiences, or words of wisdom, so please do feel free to share! I know I am the only one who can birth my baby, but I also know that support, in whatever form, is invaluable and I am graciously open to receiving it!

Looking forward to the journey ahead…

Many Blessings to you and yours!

In Love,

Sashie
